The above title is Irish Gaelic meaning:  Happy Saint Patrick’s Day.  And as you may know, Patrick is one of my all time favorite heroes!  Yes, even more than Bat Man!  Even better, Patrick was real!  And his life serves as a wonderful example of a life of sacrifice, of love, and courage, and of selfless giving.  I’m sure you know the story.  But it is amazing to me to this day that Patrick chose to return to Ireland even after he had been mistreated and enslaved by the Irish 6 long and terrible years.  He embraced the Irish people as his own.  What a yielded heart he must have had!  What faith!!  He serves as a wonderful, wonderful example to we who name the name of Jesus.

So, by all means, drink beer in his honor, if you will.  But remember that there is a reason for the holiday that has nothing to do with leprechauns, pots of gold and getting drunk.  The shamrock is another story (and a powerful one at that)…Good of ya, Pat!  Your life was well spent.  And you are not forgotten!
