I woke up this morning and remembered that day light savings took effect today. Spring forward and all that. A loss of one hour.
It’s a reminder to me that all time is indeed precious. Every day…in deed…every moment we have is a gift. And so I receive it as such.

Some years ago, the LORD gave me a verse of scripture as an encouragement. At the time I didn’t know it was a popular one. Even so, it is precious to me. And every now and again it will come up or be mentioned by someone close to me. And this is usually used by God as a confirmation or ongoing encouragement. The scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 and I thought I would look it up from the Message. It comes out kind of cool in that version:

11 I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

I like the way the Message puts that about God “showing up” and “taking care” of things. I don’t know about you, but I need God to show up and take care of things. It reminds me of another verse from Isaiah (43:1-4 specifically, again from the Message):

1-4 But now, God’s Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob,
the One who got you started, Israel:
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.
I’ve called your name. You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That’s how much you mean to me!
That’s how much I love you!
I’d sell off the whole world to get you back,
trade the creation just for you.

Wow! That’s…amazing! I am humbled and encouraged by those words.
