Please come

Here’s a poem/prayer of praise that I wrote some time ago and just found it again.  It was really written for Advent but thought it might really work for Lent as well.  I actually added and tweaked a few things.  Here it is: Holy Jesus, Light of the World, light of light, transparent flame of […]

May your purpose

Some of the best advice I’ve been given recently, really a form of a blessing, is as follows: “May your purpose be Jesus in every thing you do” I dwelling on and in that.  I’m praying that and receiving that.

OKC

Going to OK City tomorrow morning.  I’m looking forward to the trip and then I’m not.  I don’t know.  I’ll take it for what it is.  I’m grateful for my good job.  And I’m looking forward to the reflection/prayer time that I’ll have. Back in the days when I blogged more I would have said […]

Nothing Else

This dark night of the soul seems like it has lasted forever.  At times it doesn’t seem like I’ll survive it.  Most often I just finding myself crying out to God for mercy.  Dogma fails me.  Doctrine fails me.  They are cold and lifeless.  Only Christ Himself matters.  He alone is the answer. Whatever might […]

Psalm 16

Praying Psalm 16 nearly every day right now.  It’s really good out of the Message: 1-2 Keep me safe, O God, I’ve run for dear life to you. I say to God, “Be my Lord!” Without you, nothing makes sense. 3 And these God-chosen lives all around— what splendid friends they make! 4 Don’t just […]
