R2-D2 Mailboxes

On my way to work, I pass an R2-D2 mail box much like the one pictured above.  I heard that these meshes have been put on the mail boxes as promotion for the Post Office’s upcoming stamp series.  Nothing deep here.  It just makes me smile. Btw, sorry for the lack of posting lately.  I’ll […]

Beautiful thoughts

When we’ve hit our limit, the limitlessness of God overshadows even the most hopeless circumstance. Living into God’s call to be relentlessly merciful gives God the power we’d like to keep for ourselves. And sometimes this is frustrating. However, it is that same characteristic that invites you each day to try again. What may God […]

Order my footsteps

I am finding myself getting a bit overwhelmed again.  My organizational skills are being challenged.  Ironically, I have been teaching on “resting in God” and the necessity of it.  For when we rest in God, he gives us his presence, his peace (shalom=wholeness), and he speaks to us…ordering our footsteps).  Ahhhhhhhh…now it’s time to practice […]

Has God called us to this place?

Every quarter or so I get the Vineyard’s church planting magazine Cutting Edge.  When I do, I get really excited (it’s like a little slice of Christmas).  Well in the latest issue, Steve Sjogren is quoted as saying something to the effect that not all followers of Christ are called to a geographical area (see question/point […]

Saint Patrick's Day

Today celebrates the life of one of my favorite heroes of the Faith, St. Patrick. His great love and sacrifice for the Irish people was so great that he is famous among them even today. His story cannot be told enough! Good on ya’ Pat!

Praying and healing

John Lunt has this to say recently on the topic of praying and healing as a normal part of being missional/incarnational.  They are good thoughts and worthy of reading. I guess you might say I was inspired and wrote this in response: Oh TOTALLY on the healing comments, brother! As you say, it’s ALL OVER scripture. Like […]

just for fun

The above picture speaks for itself.  Found it…errrrr….somewhere on the Web and had to have it.  LOL!  Don’t you know that Chuck Norris can solve any world problem with a well placed round-house kick?!  Sorry, that’s the geeky side of me rearing it’s nerdy head.  I just needed some levity today.  Too many heavy-duty things going on!  And […]

Good gifts

A little while back Owen gave me permission to use the above drawing. Thanks Owen! Sadly, in order for the image to fit hear you won’t be able to read what it says. But you should be able to make out that it’s Jesus gesturing about the comparison of a fish and a snake and […]

Handing over the sword

There is a seen from the old movie Excalibur that I was recalling today. It was one in which the would be King of Britain, Arthur is battling the last strong resistant noble man. They are in a ditch filled with water as I recall. The action is very intense and they are slugging pretty […]
